The tide was out, revealing the mud banks. The sun shone through the early morning mist giving the scene a ghostly feel. It was a wonderful 30 minutes or so until the mist was burnt off and the atmosphere was gone.
The Breton culture is strong and vibrant. These girls, dressed in their Breton costumes, were taking part in a music festival in Landerneau. It seems that nearly everyone in Brittany plays an active part in keeping their culture alive.
I´ve just got back after three wonderful weeks in Brittany, France. I took this shot, ok, a corny sunset shot, of the Île Vierge Lighthouse at Lilia on the North Finistère coast. The lighthouse was built in 1902 and with 82,5 meters is the highest in Europe. It was a wonderful sunset though – we sat on the coastal rocks chilling out and watching the sun sinking, as Bob Dylan sang, like a ship behind the horizon.
