So here it is, that sand dune! The beast seemed to go on and on, naturally only in the “up” direction, of course. The bay is called Sandfly Bay. By the way, sandflies are little devils and are similar in their viciousness to the Scottish midge!

The Yellow Eyed Penguin is native to New Zealand and is now an endangered species.

I guess the biggest buzz I got though was from watching the Albatrosses as they soared above the sea cliffs at Taiaroroa Head. Without wishing to dive into all the usual cliches when Albatrosses are written or talked about, I will only write that they were majestic!
